Why federal résumés are different

Since September 2025, every federal résumé has two pages to prove you qualify. Most veterans spend them on the wrong things.

01 · DEPTH

Two pages, every line earning its place

OPM now rejects any federal résumé longer than two pages. HR specialists still rate you against the announcement's specialized experience requirements, so the hours per week, dates, and duty language all have to fit and still prove you qualify. If it isn't on the page, it doesn't count.

02 · TRANSLATION

Ratings and MOS codes don't self-translate

An LS, a 92A, and a 2S0X1 all do logistics in three different languages. We convert duties into the announcement's own vocabulary so raters can score you.

03 · TAILORING

One résumé per announcement

Generic federal résumés underperform. Every Debrief federal package is tailored to a specific job announcement you're targeting. That's included in the price.

Unlimited revisions for two weeks. You walk away with a document you can maintain yourself — plus guidance on the USAJOBS questionnaire it pairs with.

Packages

Launch pricing — still in effect

Comparable federal résumé services typically run several hundred dollars and take a week or more. We're faster and priced under them because our production is AI-accelerated and our review is done by someone who actually ran military admin for 22 years. Launch pricing holds for our first 25 orders (this page will say so when it ends) — packages then step up to $199 / $299 / $449.

The honest comparison

Same specialty. Half the price. A quarter of the wait.

Typical federal résumé services
$300 – $1,000+ · 5–10 business days

Established federal résumé firms publish prices from roughly $150 at the budget end to $995 and beyond for premium packages, with standard turnarounds of a week or more and rush fees of 50–100% on top.

Debrief
$149 – $349 · 48 hours standard

Announcement tailoring included. Founder review on every document. Unlimited revisions for 14 days. If we can't get your résumé right, you get your money back.

Market ranges based on publicly listed 2026 pricing from federal and military résumé services. We'll never promise you a job or an interview; no honest service can. We promise a document raters can score.

Who's behind this

Written at machine speed. Drafted to a Chief's standard.

We're transparent about how this works: drafting is AI-accelerated, which is how we deliver in 48 hours at these prices. But nothing ships without a human review by our founder, a retired Navy Legalman who spent two decades translating what sailors did into language boards, commands, and federal reviewers act on.

He's been on your side of the transition. This service exists because too many veterans either overpay a résumé mill or send USAJOBS a generic résumé that never mentions what the announcement asked for.

Questions, answered straight

FAQ

What's the difference between a federal and a civilian résumé?
Both are now two pages, but they do different jobs. A civilian résumé sells highlights to a recruiter. A federal résumé has to prove eligibility to an HR specialist: month/year dates, hours per week, series and grade for any federal jobs, and duty descriptions written against the announcement's specialized experience requirements. OPM has capped federal résumés at two pages since September 27, 2025, and anything longer is ruled ineligible. Fitting that evidence into two pages is the hard part, and it's the part we do.
What do you need from me?
The intake form, anything you already have (old résumé, evals/FITREPs/OERs, award citations, DD-214 duty info), and, for federal packages, the USAJOBS announcement link you're targeting. Missing pieces are fine; we'll pull details out of you with a short set of follow-up questions.
How is AI used, exactly?
AI drafts fast and never gets tired of tailoring. That's how we hit 48 hours. Every document is then reviewed, corrected, and approved by our founder before delivery. You get machine speed with a 22-year military admin professional's judgment. Nothing is auto-sent.
What's your guarantee?
Unlimited revisions for 14 days after delivery. If we can't produce a résumé you're confident submitting, we refund you in full. We do not (and no honest service can) guarantee interviews or job offers.
Do you handle SES, ECQs, or KSA narratives?
Yes. Senior Executive Service packages and ECQ/KSA narrative writing are quoted individually after a short call, because scope varies widely. Mention it in the intake form and we'll follow up with a fixed quote.
I separate in three weeks. Can you help?
That's exactly who we built the 48-hour standard for. If you need it even faster, the 24-hour rush option exists, and unlike most of the industry, our rush fee is a flat $75, not a 50–100% surcharge.
